Pre-application discussion between the proponent, Department of Sustainability & Environment and Department of Planning and Community Development, relevant authorities and council/ responsible authority.

Response

SHWF met separately with DSE, DPCD and Council in first half of 2008 to present the project concept.

Process

Notification of the project lodged with the Minister for Planning to determine whether an Environment Effects Statement is required under the Environmental Effects Act 1978.

Response

Notification was lodged on 30 June 2008. Minister advised on 29 September 2008 that an Environment Effects Statement was not required.

Process

Proponent prepares application and supporting documentation pursuant to the Planning and Environment Act 1987, and should liaise with community / agencies.

Response

Application documentation was prepared and community consultation has been undertaken.

Proponent lodges permit application with Responsible Authority, i.e. Minister for Planning

Application submitted in February 2009.

A Cultural Heritage Management Plan has been prepared and was submitted in September 2009 to Aboriginal Affairs Victoria for review.

Responsible authority requests further information if needed.

DPCD requested further information in March 2009. A response was submitted to DPCD in October 2009.

Responsible authority advertises application.

Public hearings and report by panel appointed under Planning and Environment Act (1987)

Minister completes assessment and decides application.

    • The panel hearings for the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm concluded on 26 May. The Panel is currently preparing its report, including recommendations on the project, to the Minister.
